How Not To Mess Up Your Website Redesign

How Not To Mess Up Your Website Redesign

So you finally decided to redesign your website. Even if you are well past due for a new website it is better now than never. Besides we today is the first day of the rest of your life and there is nothing that can be done about the past. So looking towards the future how can you make sure not to mess up your website redesign? The last thing that you will want to do is redesign your website just to realize that it is terrible and still needs to be redone. I am going to give you some things you should consider when starting the redesign project. Don’t just rush and get a website built make sure you understand what you are wanting and how you can get that.

  1. Web Design Company – I know you have probably heard this a bunch but it is so true. You have no idea how many times our web design company hears the horror stories of just having a website built but needing a new one because the company the client had hired did a terrible job. Learn from others mistakes and hire a web design company that you are confident can complete the job with a high quality of standards. If you mess up on this your website could end up costing you a lot more than you expect.
  2. Content – Content is so important to a website and not only for search engine optimization purposes. Content is what will keep your visitors coming back. Besides that it is what will interest them in doing business with your company in the first place. Don’t just think of content as text. You can use video, images such as infogrpahics, audio, etc. These are all way you can add content to your website that could not only drive more traffic but also help your website begin converting at a much much higher rate.
  3. User Friendly – Many small online business owners think that they are going to wow everyone with their new website but what they end up doing is creating a website that is confusing and not user friendly at all. When you are talking about a website most of the time a visually appealing simplistic website is the best way to go. Nobody that is visiting your website wants to spend hours trying to figure out how to navigate and use your website.
  4. Mobile Friendly – The internet world is changing and whether you like it or not mobile users are the future of the internet. That is why you must make sure that your website is user friendly. We would suggest using a responsive design rather than creating an entirely separate mobile website. There are many reasons for this but one of the main reasons is that it will be compatible across many devices. For example smart TV’s are creating a new device you will likely have to consider in the future.

When looking at redesigning your website make sure you don’t fall victim to these 4 mistakes. So many small online business owners end up falling victim to one or multiple of these items.
